threw a wish in the well

I don't know about you guys, but I find it really hard to shop when I have no income.

there are several ways to deal with this difficulty.
a) if you live in an actual city and are perhaps from the 1950s, you can try window shopping;
b) take up a life of crime; or,
c) shamelessly browse internet shopping sites making copious photo wishlists.

I chose c.

1, 5, 8, 14 - etsy
2, 3, 4, 9, 11 - modcloth
6 - seychelles
7, 13 - urban outfitters
10 - american apparel
12 - jeffrey campbell

these are my fall must-haves- rustic hues and patterns, cozy knits, suede booties, MUSTARD, and one or two dresses to take me into party season (it's too early to say Christmas, right?).

oh and... a few Doctor Who prints, cause I mean... they're just awesome. 

I seriously love this wishlist, guys. 

I want this to be the suitcase I have to live out of next month.

oh well. there's always that life of crime a-callin'...

confess your love as well as your folly

sometimes in life, girls, you will make ill-informed decisions. these blunders will often come in the form of impulse purchases, pizza binges, or chick flicks, and they are almost always made under the influence of well-meaning loved ones.

today I made one such decision. I chose to willingly follow Brando on a "short walk" on the town hiking trail.

I don't know what I was thinking.

come on, Sarah. you know yourself better than that. a hiking trail? with built-in stairs? please. and you know better when Brandon says "short walk."

don't get me wrong, the trail is beautiful! we got some lovely pictures, and the hike isn't overly challenging either. but in case you hadn't noticed, my appreciation for nature stems (hehe little pun there) more from photo ops and walks in the park, and less from spontaneous physical activity.

but hey, pictures!

I did realize that this is the same cardigan I wore in my last post... but not until after we took the photos!  but you know, it's actually a more accurate representation of my style lately, as I am living out of one suitcase at a time. 

as a side note, I am kinda obsessed with these over-the-knee socks (they actually go halfway up my thigh but this worked better with my skirt length). they are so warm and cozy, and I love how they look! I want MORE. black, cream, navy, a whole bunch of cozy awesome sock-y goodness. 

I'm sort of unsure what type of footwear they go with... I think tall boots or oxfords would be best... but like I said, right now I'm operating with limited wardrobe choices! besides, these boots are the cutest. I'm also kinda obsessed with fringe at the moment. 

now if you'll excuse me, I'm recovering from this afternoon's physical exertion by watching a Katherine Hepburn marathon on Turner Classic Movies. I love Katherine Hepburn. she's a class act. and I love her voice. :)

yeah, toast!

I'm finally getting a taste of autumn up in here. all you lovely bloggers have been sharing photos and posts of pumpkin pies, apple orchards, and fallen leaves, while I'm running around going to concerts and trying new wine.

gotta say, I think it's a fair trade.

still, it's nice to have a few golden flora on this here blogity-blog!

life's been pretty excellent lately; I'm running around Newfoundland spending time with friends & family till that whole responsibility thing eventually kicks in. till it does, I'm happy with lunch dates, last-minute parties, and movie watching.

(side note: watch Looper. and Here Comes the Boom. and Pitch Perfect. some of those might sound questionable, but seriously, they're amazeballs.)

I bought this dress while adventuring in downtown St. John's on the nicest day ever. and by nicest day ever, I mean not only was the weather unseasonably lovely, but every interaction with a human was equally lovely. seriously you guys, come to St. John's sometime.

anyways, how adorable is the pattern of this dress! toast! YEAH TOAST.
please excuse the painfully old Adam Sandler reference, but I'm a sucker for a novelty print. especially one with an adorable polka dot trim.

I got the dress at a local shop, but you can also buy it at modcloth. it's a really flattering and comfortable fit, and the quality is great too. just fyi!

I'm really hoping this gorgeous autumn sticks around a little while longer. it's making the scenery extra easy on the eyes, and I'm enjoying the gypsy-traveller lifestyle. not ready to settle down for winter just yet.

holla homies! long time no see!
you'll be happy to hear (at least, I was) that I finally have my computer back, and thus can begin, once again, to blog consistently.
sigh. so many interruptions. I really miss blogging! and I'm sad to have missed most of the autumn-y goodness in the blogosphere.
